Juan William Chávez

Juan William Chávez is an artist and activist whose multidisciplinary practice extends across painting and drawing, installation and video, as well as beekeeping and agriculture. He often works collaboratively on social-practice projects that address the environment, sustainability, and urban ecologies. Chavez has exhibited his work at venues such as Artpace, McColl Center, El Museo del Barrio, the Contemporary Art Museum of St. Louis, and more. His work has gained the support of institutions such as the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, Creative Capital, the Joan Mitchell Foundation, the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, and the Art Matters Foundation.
