Chris Curreri
Chris Curreri is a Canadian artist who works with photography and sculpture. Based in Toronto, his work is premised on the idea that things in the world are defined less by their essential properties, than by the actual relationships that we establish with them. Recent solo exhibitions include: Games That Two Can Play, Occurrence, Montréal; One Eye Open, Night Gallery, Los Angeles; That, There, It, Contemporary Calgary; A Surrogate, A Proxy, A Stand In, Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Kingston; Thick Skull, Thin Skin, Esker Foundation, Calgary; and The Ventriloquist, Daniel Faria Gallery, Toronto. His work has been included in exhibitions at: Württembergischer Kunstverein, Stuttgart; Musée d’art contemporain de Montréal; Weserburg museum für moderne Kunst, Bremen; National Gallery of Canada, Ottawa; Institute for Provocation, Beijing; Lítost, Prague; Art Gallery of Ontario, Toronto; Kunstinstituut Melly, Rotterdam; Castillo/Carrales, Paris; and Callicoon Fine Arts, New York. He holds an MFA from the Milton Avery Graduate School for the Arts at Bard College.
