Coyote Time Reading Club
The Coyote Time Reading Club is a serial program that will run from June 2026 through December 2026. The Coyote Time Reading Club meets once a month and we will read a different text provided by the curatorial team. Each selected text was in some way inspirational or foundational to the framing of our upcoming exhibition, Coyote Time. Attendees will be able to engage deeper with the themes of the exhibition–including climate action, interconnection, and intergenerational learning.
The Reading Club will take place, in-person only, on the third Tuesday of the month.

Text: “Unparalleled Catastrophe for Our Species?: Or, to Give Humanness a Different Future: Conversations” by Sylvia Wynter and Katherine McKittrick, selected by Counterpublic 2026 Curator Stefanie Hessler.
Sylvia Wynter and Katherine McKittrick have long been in conversation, and these two intergenerational, interdisciplinary thinkers and their ongoing dialogue have been influential to my own work as a curator and writer. Their “gaze from below” brings together systems thinking and decolonial practice, biology and philosophy, spirituality and economy, flesh and mythos, and attempts to do nothing short of interrupting the recursivity of the world as given towards an ongoing liberatory praxis of being human.
