About the Artwork

Community Futures: Space-Time Liberation Lab (CF:STL Lab) was a three-month-long Afrofuturist housing and land justice lab at The Luminary. CF:STL Lab provided a temporary convening space-time for housing advocates, artists, organizers, tenants, and other people impacted by housing insecurity and land injustice and/or interested in co-creating strategies to address its impacts. With these projects, Black Quantum Futurism invited community members to participate through the marking, mapping, and storage of space and time that can later be reclaimed.
