Colophon

The Counterpublic graphic identity emerged from a collaborative effort to understand the organization’s
dynamic, multifaceted role within the local community and beyond. The identity focuses on creating flexible, intuitive systems for deployment across print, digital, motion, and environmental contexts. Each design element is conceptually rooted in transformation, everyday iconography—such as symbols found in public signage—and, perhaps most importantly, the city of St. Louis. The identity and website were all created in close collaboration with the Counterpublic team, including James McAnally, Lee Broughton, Kristin Fleischmann Brewer, Jess Bellomo, and Kristen Oyer.
