From One Space to Another; August 17, 2021; Christopher; The Ventriloquist

Based in Toronto, Chris Curreri’s practice is premised on the idea that things in the world are defined by the relationships we form with them. Curreri’s work offers the surprise and pleasure of encountering the wondrous and the uncanny. Across his sculptures and photographic series, Curreri makes the familiar feel strange and sensual, opening up spaces of transition where new possibilities can be felt and imagined. The installation includes three bodies of work: From One Space to Another (2026), The Ventriloquist (2019), Christopher (2019), and August 17, 2021 (2022). Together, they reveal fictional binaries of pleasure/pain, lover/beloved, known/unknown, and more.
