About the Artwork
Untitled (Press) is a functional penny press with fragments of lyrics invoking freedom sung by Baker (“sky is the only / roof I’ve ever had”).
This work was a part of an ensemble of immersive installations within Union Station during the 2023 edition, which included Sky Is the Only Roof and Untitled (Ripple).
The penny press is now on view at the Griot Museum of Black History, a partner of Counterpublic.
