kimi malka hanauer

kimi malka hanauer is an artist, writer, and publisher. kimi is a founding collective member of the publishing initiative, Press Press (est. 2014), steward of the nomadic education initiative, ungovernable study (est. 2021), and an assistant professor at Pratt Institute. Their projects, writings, and programs have been presented at Printed Matter, New York; the Vera List Center for Art and Politics, New York; Wendy’s Subway, New York; A Blade of Grass, New York; MoMA PS1, New York; C Magazine, Toronto; Counterpublic, St. Louis; Southern Exposure, San Francisco; the Allied Media Conference, Detroit; X-TRA, Los Angeles; Institute of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles; the Carnegie Museum of Art, Pittsburgh; among others. They received a 2023 Lightning Fund award from Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions and the Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, a 2023–24 Independent Study Program Studio Fellowship at the Whitney Museum of American Art, and, with Press Press, a 2024 Artist Choice Award from the Ruth Foundation for the Arts.
