Peace Park – located next to the Grand Ave Water Tower – was founded and named by the late Otis Woodard and has been used as a safe community gathering space for more than 20 years.

About the Artwork
Defensive Landscape, a permanent regenerative land artwork by artist Jordan Weber, commissioned by curator Diya Vij for the Counterpublic 2023 triennial, is now open to the public. Serving as a site for play, contemplation, and ecological repair, its unveiling marks the opening of Peace Park, a new green space in College Hill—St. Louis’s only neighborhood that previously lacked a park.
