Counterpublic is a proud member of two professional associations: the International Biennial Association (IBA) and the North American Ennials Alliance.

The International Biennial Association is a nonprofit arts association created as a platform for establishing, researching and exchanging knowledge and information necessary for institutions and professionals who plan and curate periodic art events such as biennials and triennials, as well as artists, researchers and others concerned with contemporary art.

The Ennials Alliance offers a supportive space to exchange resources, best practices, and ideas for ennial organizations focusing on contemporary visual art and culture. This peer network, connected to North America, is arts-driven and values creative risk-taking, transparency, accountability, and collaboration to support its core members to collectively shape industry standards and ethics.
