Let's Build a St. Louis Artist Database!
The St. Louis Artist Database is a living database of artists working in the region. A tool to connect with local artists for future opportunities, the database is a vital resource as we develop projects. Please submit your name, email, and website or social media through the form below to be included in the database. You can also recommend an artist whom you believe should be included in the database.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
The St. Louis Artist Database is a comprehensive list of artists working in the St. Louis region. Artists and cultural workers of all types are encouraged to submit work. We encourage a broad approach to art to be included, such as visual art, performance, film, music, sound, socially engaged practices, teaching artists, and more - don’t be hesitant if you aren’t sure you qualify! Please visit the Editions page on Counterpublic’s website for examples of past commissions.
This crowd-sourced database contains artists’ contact information and will be a reference and vital resource as we develop future projects. With your approval, we will share your work with other curators and project partners. By submitting your work through our online form, you are becoming a part of a larger network of opportunities.
-
Artists and cultural workers are encouraged to submit anytime on Counterpublic’s website. Please include your name, website (or social media handle), and email address. Click the checkbox if you’re ok with us sharing your information with outside curators and partners as a resource for the region’s artists.
Counterpublic may follow-up with artists for further information.
-
Artists and cultural workers working within 125 miles of downtown St. Louis are encouraged to submit.
-
You’ll receive confirmation from Counterpublic that we’ve received your submission. All artists who submit will be included in the secure artist database.
Submission to the artist database is informational only. It is not a proposal or a commission commitment for participation in Counterpublic’s 2026 edition.
Artists may be contacted for future opportunities, including proposals, studio visits or events, but inclusion in the artist database is not a guarantee of future collaboration.
-
Artist information will be saved in a secure online database. Staff and curatorial partners will have access to the database. Artists must give permission for their information to be shared outside of Counterpublic via the online submission form.
